County to Hold Public Meeting for Hazard Mitigation
The Kootenai County Office of Emergency Management will hold a public meeting (open house) at the Kootenai County
Administration Building, Conference Room 1A & 1B, March 31st from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The public meeting is part of the Office of Emergency
Management's initiative to update Kootenai County's Multi-Jurisdictional All Hazard Mitigation Plan and to educate and solicit public input.
Hazard Mitigation is the process of devising methods to prevent or lessen the impact of natural or human caused hazards upon the populace of
Kootenai County. The plan is designed to address such natural hazards as: severe weather, wildfire, earthquake, flooding, landslide, avalanche,
dam failure and drought. The plan also addresses such human caused hazards as hazardous materials, cyber security, terrorism, pandemic and
