The Kootenai County Extension Office is actually part of the University of Idaho Cooperative Extension System. It provides a link between local citizens and University research centers. Primary educational program areas include forestry, crops/pastures, horticulture, family and consumer science, livestock and 4-H/youth development. Extension provides unbiased, research-based information through individual consultation, workshops, pamphlets, videotapes and other resource materials. It also provides volunteer training and leadership development for master gardeners, 4-H leaders and master food preservers.
