Our office supervises offenders placed on supervised probation in Domestic Violence Court as well as Domestic Violence Diversion.
Domestic Violence Court provides increased judicial monitoring and interaction of resources among the courts, justice system personnel,
and community agencies. Domestic Violence Diversion is also monitored by Domestic Violence Court. There are two tracks of the program.
Track I allows for the dismissal of the charge as long as the offender completes the requirements of the program. Track II allows for a
reduced charge upon successful completion. Both tracks run 12-24 months depending on how long it takes to complete the requirements.
Supervision for probationers with Domestic Violence charges is very intensive. Individuals placed on supervision for domestic violence
crimes are required to meet with the domestic violence probation officer more frequently. The frequency of the contact may decrease only
after the probation officer is satisfied that the probationer is involved and participating successfully in appropriate treatment and the
probationer's risk to re-offend is significantly reduced.
