Kootenai County provides two full service transfer stations for customer convenience. The Coeur d'Alene
station is located at
3650 N. Ramsey Road in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The Post Falls Station is
located at
15580 W. Prairie Avenue in Post Falls, Idaho.
Business Hours:
The Transfer Stations are open to the general public and waste hauling companies seven days
a week. The entry gate opens at 8:00 a.m. and closes to the public at 4:55 p.m. every day.
It is requested that all customers be unloaded and out of the facility by 5:00 p.m. each day.
The staffed Rural Collection Sites are open to residential customers seven days a week.
The gates open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 5:00 p.m. every day. These sites are for household
waste only. Large bulky items, tires, wood, and recycling must come to the Ramsey Transfer
Station. No commercial waste is accepted at these sites.
Holiday Closures:
All Solid Waste facilities are closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day,
Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Administration Hours:
The Administration Office for the Solid Waste Department is located at the Ramsey Road facility.
The office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The office is closed from 12:00
to 1:00 for lunch. The business office observes the regular federal holidays.

The Solid Waste Department is pleased to present the 2012 Waste Stream Analysis. This is an important historical record and
planning tool for Kootenai County. It provides historical perspective that helps us project future trends. All detailed
reporting information can be viewed and the Idaho DEQ office in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho or at the Administration Office of the
Kootenai County Solid Waste Department.

Mission Statement
It is the mission of the Kootenai County Solid Waste
Department to:
Protect the public health and well being for all citizens affected
directly or indirectly, now and in the future.
Provide environmentally sound facilities and operations before,
during and after disposal of solid waste.
Provide effective and efficient means of solid waste
disposal to the citizens of Kootenai County.
Insure the quality of solid waste disposal costs among all citizens.
