Prepayment

Prepayment of taxes is accepted prior to taxes being billed for both real and personal property. The money paid for the taxes is placed into Tax Anticipation. After the taxes are billed in November, the Tax Anticipation notes will be applied against the account. Many people use this method of paying their taxes because it allows them the flexibility to make advance monthly payments without paying any late charge or interest. Prepayment of taxes on personal property, (mobile homes, equipment) is also required if there is ownership change requiring a name change in the title or the property is being moved.
