Crime Comparison (NIBRS)

The National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) is a reporting system used by law enforcement agencies to report data on crimes and arrests.  The chart below shows the comparison of offenses per 100,000 population for NIBRS Group A crimes between Kootenai County and other cities/counties in Idaho and Spokane County.  NIBRS Group A offenses include:  Murder, Manslaughter, Rape, Sodomy, Sexual Assault with an Object, Fondling, Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Intimidation, Kidnapping, Incest, Statutory Rape, Robbery, Burglary, Larceny, Motor Vehicle Theft, Arson, Destruction of Property, Counterfeiting/Forgery, Fraud, Embezzlement, Extortion/Blackmail, Bribery, Stolen Property Offenses, Animal Cruelty, Drug/Narcotic Violations, Drug Equipment Violations, Gambling Offenses, Pornography, Prostitution Offenses, Weapon Law Offenses. Please keep in mind that all law enforcement agencies report crime separately.  Kootenai County data does not include data for Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, Rathdrum and Spirit Lake.  Those cities are listed separately.  For 2020 and 2021, Post Falls and Rathdrum were not included in Idaho State Police Uniform Crime Report.
