The Parks and Waterways Department is pursuing an Idaho State Waterways Improvement Fund Grant necessary to fund the replacement of the docks. We need emails or letters of support from boaters. Your letters and emails will have a big impact on the committee that evaluates the grant applications.
Carlin Bay Boat Launch and Park located on Lake Coeur d’Alene serves thousands of recreational boaters each year and is one of the busier facilities managed by Kootenai County.
As you know, Kootenai County Parks and Waterways have made significant improvements to the park over the past 15-years which include docks, pilings, gangways, vessel pump-out, vault restroom, seawall replacement, and the purchase of property to expand parking. However, the dock system has reached its useful life expectancy and needs replacement.
With your letters of support, Kootenai County Parks and Waterways will replace the dock system with bare feet friendly concrete decked docks that will also enclose the existing swim area, as well as expand the amount of dock space for day use moorage.
