[ARCHIVED] Snowgroomer Program Update

January 12 tree removal

Effective immediately, Snowgroomer Department field operation teams will begin the arduous task of removing downed trees on groomed routes in advance of the start of grooming season. As per the agreement with the Forest Service, the Snowgroomer department is not authorized to deploy trailhead barricades or begin grooming operations until December 15th. As such, the department will deploy barricades on Thursday December 15th and Friday December 16th, and begin grooming operations the week of December 19th. Groomer teams operate 13 hour shifts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

If you are out on the trails this winter and assist in cutting downed trees, please make sure to cut them a few feet wider than the trail on both sides to help minimize damage to the grooming equipment, and make trails safer for all snowmobilers. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you out on the trails!

Best Regards,

The Snowgroomer Department
