County vs Cities - How Kootenai County Government Compares

A large majority of the services that Kootenai County government provides are mandated by Idaho State Law and serve all County citizens. Services that Cities provide are primarily voluntary and generally only serve the population in each City.  Other taxing districts serve a variety of geographic areas and purposes that are mandated or voluntary.
