Bela Kovacs,
Kootenai County Assessor
Kootenai County
Assessor, Bela Kovacs, has been a resident of Kootenai County since 1999.
He earned a
Bachelor Science degree in Economics from Arizona State University and he holds
several certifications in public procurement, contracting and supply chain
management.
Prior to his
experience in government and real estate, Bela Kovacs has over 12 combined
years of Fortune 100 experience in the areas of procurement, contracting and
supply chain operations in retail, wholesale, manufacturing, logistics and
distribution.
Bela also
possesses a combined total of over 20 years’ experience as a licensed real
estate agent in the states of Colorado, Washington and Idaho. Bela has a
total of 19 years of public administration experience as the former Purchasing
Director at Spokane County from 1999 to 2018.
Through his
years in public service, he knows well that the core values of integrity,
transparency, and accountability of process, as well as the good stewardship of
public resources, are all vital to earning and maintaining public trust and
confidence. Bela is committed to these values as the hallmarks of public
service and is grateful for the honor to serve his local community as Assessor.
Bela is married
to his wife, Monica, for 36 years and together they have 12 children, and 14
grandchildren.
