Touring the Facility

Come along with us on a virtual tour of the Solid Waste Department. We will start at the Ramsey Transfer Station located at:
330 N Ramsey Road
Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815

The facility gates open at 8 a.m. every morning and close at 4:55 p.m.

Inbound Scales

Once you have come through the gates you will come to the traffic signal in front of the inbound scale houses. There are now two scale houses to help with traffic control into the transfer station. Please make sure that you pay attention to the traffic signals in front of the scalehouses.

Process

You may proceed onto the scale when the traffic signal turns green. Please do not make any sudden stops on the scales as this creates problems for the scale. An attendant will greet you as you pull up. You will be asked if the material you are bringing in is coming from within Kootenai County and what type of material you have. If there is a question regarding your residency status within Kootenai County, the attendant may ask for proof (Example: driver's license, utility bill, vehicle registration).

Tracking

The scale house attendant will weigh your vehicle and code the material into the system. A card will be given to take with you during your travels throughout the facility. This protocol allows for the tracking of the types of materials coming through the transfer stations. The scale house attendant will then advise where to offload your materials.
