Department of Motor Vehicles
The Assessor acts as a vendor for the Idaho Transportation Department and provides two convenient locations for Kootenai County residents to handle registrations.

District Court
Deputy court clerks, downstairs in the Justice Building, process all citations, community service enrollment, applications for a public defender, protection orders and filings for all criminal and civil cases.

Driver's Licensing
The Driver’s License Office is the mandated vendor for the Idaho Department of Transportation for processing all classes of Drivers Licenses and Identification Cards.

Kootenai County has several Elected Official Offices and departments that produce or offer various map products as part of regular business services, and/or as requirements of the Idaho Code.

The Juvenile Detention Center assures the safety and security of our community by detaining juvenile offenders.

Juvenile Diversion
The Diversion Program is a voluntary alternative to the formal court process for most first time offending youth.

Juvenile Probation
In cases where Diversion is inappropriate, youth will then be formally adjudicated in court, and often placed on County Probation. Probation is a more formal, structured, and restrictive approach for the habitual and /or serious offender.

The Noxious Weed Control Department assists the public and government agencies with identification and control methods for noxious weeds.
